COURSE OBJECTIVE: To provide  Knowledge on chemical nature and properties of Engineering Materials. 

COURSE OUTCOMES 

After completion of the course students should be able to:

 CO1  : Apply the phase rule to interpret the alloy diagrams and understand the influence of alloying on properties of metals. 

CO2 :  Relate the structure and properties of polymers. 

CO3 : Identify the forms of corrosion and suggest suitable methods to control corrosion. 

CO4 : Comprehend the working principles of batteries and fuel cells.

 CO5 : Recognize the importance of lubricants, water, refractories, ceramics, adhesives and sealants in   engineering.
